I would like to start off by giving my heartfelt thanks to my brother Gary and sister Suzi who exhibited KingBrick with me. I couldn't have done it without you guys. We had a blast!
My gratitude extends to the organisers of the show who were not only very helpful but enthusiastic about the KingBrick game from the moment we arrived.
Being the first time we had taken KingBrick to anything like this I especially appreciate the encouragement and advice freely offered by many of the fellow exhibitors who truly made the whole weekend a most enjoyable and valuable experience.
I am pleased to announce that KingBrick was a huge success. Not only did we sell all our stock (we are now furiously making more sets to meet demand) but were also privileged enough to be voted .....
The Best New Family Game 2011.
In addition to this formal recognition we also made a whole bunch of new friends, united by the joy of flicking small plastic bricks!
Seriously I could not have met a nicer bunch of people. Their enthusiasm for playing KingBrick went far beyond expectation and led to an impromptu KingBrick Championship!
KINGBRICK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2011
By public demand (well, specifically Martin and Bez) the first ever KingBrick World Championship took place the Strathallan Hotel bar, Birmingham, on the evening of Saturday 4th June 2011. Much fun was had by all and many a throat grew sore from all the shouting!
Twelve worthy Brickflickers battled it over three rounds. The first round was played as best-of-three contests with the six winners advancing to the semi-finals. The semi-finals were played in the same format, leaving three victorious competitors to face one another in the finals for gold, silver and bronze medal positions.
(Here I would very much like to thank Josh’s dad for his diligence and impartiality in carrying out the random draw to see who would be pitted against who).
The finals consisted of three matches, each competitor playing just a single match against each of the other competitors. In case of a tie-breaker, the total value of the bricks left in the winner’s army was recorded for each match. These scores would ultimately be used to determine who would be crowned champion….

Massive congratulations to Carl who overcame many experienced adversaries to take the title. His combination of accuracy, tactical awareness and adaptability made him the worthy winner of the first KingBrick World Championship.
Hope you will be defending the title next year Carl !!
KingBrick World Champion 2011 - the awesome Carl Sedgwick
I am exhibiting KingBrick at this years expo in Birmingham on 3rd-5th June. So if you are interested in playing, buying or developing KingBrick please come along and see it for yourself.
Towards the end of last year I applied to get on to a new BBC TV programme looking for original product ideas (similar to Dragon's Den, with successful entrepreneur Jo Malone offering expert advice about getting a product to market).
I was delighted to get through to the London audition stage where I was filmed talking about and demonstrating the KingBrick game.
Unfortunately KingBrick was not one of the two final products chosen in my category (Children and Toys) to feature on the show.
However when the programme was aired (June 2010) there was a quick run through of some of the products that didn't make it on to the show and KingBrick was included.
And so, although it was only a 'blink-and-you'll-miss-it' two second snippet of my audition KingBrick has officially been seen on BBC TV !!
