KingBrick Games
In addition to the main KingBrick game there are many other games you can play with the KingBrick bricks.
KingBrick variations -
These are alternative versions of the main KingBrick Game.
KINGBRICK ANNIHILATION
Annihilation works in exactly the same was as the KingBrick Game except that you need to defeat ALL of your opponent's bricks to win, not just their KingBrick. Therefore players do not need to worry about protecting their KingBrick so much which can be used in a much more attacking way with no chance of being captured.
KINGBRICK 100
In this version of the KingBrick game players score points at the end of each game that they win. The winning player's score is 10 plus the number of 'brick points' they have left on the board at the end. For example if the winning player has 4 Guards and 2 Champions left on the board they score 28 (10 + 8 + 10 = 28).
The losing player gets no points.
Players keep a note of their scores adding them together as they go
along. The winner is the first player to reach 100 points.
The main strategy involved in this version of the KingBrick Game is to
maintain your higher valued bricks whilst also trying to defeat your
opponents KingBrick quickly.
If you want a marathon contest try increasing the point target, bearing
in mind that 'KingBrick 1000' may take a day or two!
Other KingBrick games -
More games you can play using the KingBrick Bricks.
KINGBRICK ROLL'EM
Each player requires: Just bricks, 6 Guards and 1 Champion.
This is a simple brick rolling game.
Each player has 6 Guards bricks and 1 Champion brick.
Both players roll all of their bricks together.
Players count up how many of their bricks are happy
(the bricks which have landed happy face up).
The player with the most happy bricks gets to defeat (remove from
the game) any one of their opponent's sad bricks (the bricks which
have landed sad face up).
If both players have the same number of happy bricks they can both
defeat an opponent's sad brick.
A player must have at least one happy brick to defeat an opponent's
brick and only sad bricks can be defeated.
A player can try to rescue a brick from being defeated if they have a
happy Guard brick. To do a Rescue Roll the player rolls their happy
Guard brick. If it lands happy face up they keep both bricks but if it
lands sad face up they lose both bricks so it is very risky.
The winner is the first player to defeat all of their opponent's bricks.
KINGBRICK STACK'EM
Each player requires: Plenty of bricks and a steady hand.
Simply stack up your bricks one on top of the other to make a tall
tower. How many bricks can you stack before they fall over?
If you can stack more than 12 you're doing well.
If you get over 20 then let me know!
Try setting a target amount and racing a friend to be the first to
stack that many bricks.
KINGBRICK STACK'EM: TOWER CHALLENGE
Each player requires: 12 Guard Bricks each and a steady hand.
The youngest player starts by rolling one of their bricks. If it lands happy face up they just keep it, if it lands sad face up they start off a tower. Players take it in turns to roll a brick (and then either keep it or stack it). Any brick added to the tower must be placed with the same face up that it lands on when rolled.
If a player knocks one or more bricks off the tower they lose that round. The other player gets to remove one of their own bricks from the game (the aim is to get rid of your bricks).
When you stack a brick you cannot touch the bricks below it. Players may want to make a straight tower to make their next brick stack easier or may tey to make the tower wobbly to make it difficult for the other player!
Subsequent rounds are started by the player with the most bricks remaining. If a player manages to stack all of their remaining bricks on the tower they are the winner.
KINGBRICK DUEL
Each player requires:
4 Champions, 6 Guards, 1 KingBrick and a bit of space.
Both players stand back to back holding six Guard bricks and their
KingBrick. Each player also needs four Champion bricks but these
can be kept in a pocket for now.
Both players take 3 (very small) steps away from each other.
Both players turn round and build a Target Tower on the floor in front
of them. A Target Tower is a made of 6 Guard bricks and is 2 bricks
wide and 3 bricks high. As soon as the Target Tower is built the
player should place their KingBrick on top of the Target Tower and
shout Brick On! The first player to do this gets to act first.
Players then take it in turns to place a Champion brick on the ground,
no further forward than their own Target Tower and then flick it at
their opponent's Target Tower to try to knock off their opponent's
KingBrick. Champions are left where they land until the end of the
game so may act as blockers. The first player to knock off their
opponent's KingBrick wins the duel.
If neither player wins after 4 flicks each it is a draw and players
should pick up all their bricks and start again by standing back to
back but taking one less step away from each other.
KINGBRICK SEIGE
Each player requires: 12 Guard bricks and 4 Champion bricks.
Shared board.
Seige is a good game for flicking practice.
One player arranges 12 Guard bricks inside their Castle square in any
way they like. (Try different structures to find out which work best).
The other player places 4 Champion bricks behind the line (in their
own territory) and then gets 4 flicks to try to get as many of the
opponents Basics out of the Castle as they can.
Each Champion can be flicked only once and cannot be flicked if it is
in opponent's territory.
After the 4 flicks the Seige is scored as follows:-
Score 1 point for every Guard that finishes outside the Castle.
Score 1 extra point for every Guard that finishes off the board.
Score 1 point for every Champion that finishes on the board.
Score 1 extra point for every Champion that finishes in the Castle.
Then swap over so the other player places 12 Guards in their castle
and their opponent places 4 Champions in their territory.
KingBrick Seige is good for practising power shots to smash the
Guards off the board (use finger protectors if required).
However control is needed to maximise your score by keeping your
Champion bricks on the board.
The highest score you can acheive in Seige is 32 by knocking all 12
Guards off the board with all 4 Champions finishing inside the Castle!
An almost impossible feat. Any score over 20 is good.
